Vacancy announcement Post description He/she shall develop the most appropriate strategies to: (a) support the activities of the Multimedia Resource Centre, (b) enhance the management and dissemination of information and (c) relaunch the production and dissemination of the organisation's key publications. To that end, he/she shall coordinate a “communication, information and publication unit”. Main duties The Communications Officer shall work under the authority of the Executive Secretary of Enda Tiers Monde. He/she will be responsible for promoting a good understanding of the vision, mandates, major activities and impacts of the organisation by the public and external partners on the one hand, and by all the members of the organisation on the other hand. In order to achieve this, he/she shall develop the most appropriate information and communication tools, systems and mechanisms. Main tasks: The Communications Officer shall be expected to perform the following tasks: Producing the key publications of Enda Tiers Monde, that is: The Enda Report, the Alternative Report on Africa , Environment and Life, Another way of living. Under the authority of the Executive Secretary, he/she shall take part in organising and managing the drafting, production and dissemination of these publications in Enda's three working languages (French, English and Spanish). Developing and organising an information system on Enda's main activities and products. He/she shall set up a system to facilitate the circulation of information within and outside the organisation. He/she shall develop the tools for identifying, collecting, managing and disseminating information on the missions and activities of the Executive Secretariat and the entities (web site, posters, brochures, media, etc...). Developing a strategy for promoting the multimedia resource centre in collaboration with the team of the centre: information, mobilizing partners, organising cultural activities. Qualifications: A university diploma or post-graduate degree in information and communication or equivalent; A good knowledge of the issues of development and development actors. Mastery of at least one of the new information and communication technology tools; A good knowledge of the media environment; A total of at least 7 years experience in communications in an institution or development organisation; A good knowledge of two of Enda's working languages: French/Spanish or French/English. Skills: A good understanding of the principles and practice of information technologies; A knowledge of the other communications-related technologies (printing, audiovisual, data base); A knowledge of how to organise information retrieval, processing, classification and synthesis when necessary. Good drafting and summarizing skills. The ability to collect, verify and select up-to-date information about the life of the organisation. The ability to prepare terms of reference, plan and carry out activities in a situation (Stage ? 3/5: • If you notice any translation errors, you may...) under pressure. (Time is a concept developed to decribe a changing world: the Universe is never in a fixed state, the…). Team building and leadership skills. Good public relations and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. A knowledge of the legal rules regarding copyright. Possess the mind of an activist for greater solidarity and respect for the equality of all human beings irrespective of their sex, race or social origin.
