Les modes de vie durables
Dans ce module, vous découvrirez les initiatives
de cinq groupements du Sénégal, qui sont associés à différentes équipes de Environnement
et Développement du Tiers-Monde (ENDA). En présentant ces initiatives, nous
aimerions en arriver à une vision renouvelée de l'amélioration des modes de
vie, et promouvoir les échanges entre tous les acteurs du développement.

Vous avez entre 25 et 40 ans et vous êtes ressortissant d'un pays d'Afrique francophone;
vous êtes titulaire au moins d'une Licence ou d'un diplôme équivalent, vous êtes
ingénieur, etc. Vous avez une expérience professionnelle de plusieurs années dans
un service gouvernemental, une entreprise du secteur privé, un centre de recherche,
un organisme intergouvernemental de développement, une institution représentative
de travailleurs et d'entreprises, une association ou Organisation non gouvernementale,
une agence de communication, ou vous êtes du secteur académique, etc. Vous avez
des aptitudes à travailler dans en équipe pluridisciplinaire et multiculturelle
et à promouvoir le développement durable. Vous avez enfin un niveau d'anglais
(lu et parlé) qui vous permet de participer à des sessions internationales entièrement
en anglais et voulez faire partie de la prochaine génération de leaders dans
le domaine de l'environnement et du développement.
Si vous remplissez ces conditions, vous pouvez faire acte de candidature au recrutement
en cours de la neuvième cohorte de leaders pour les pays francophones d'Afrique.

Atelier de renforcement des capacités des négociateurs

L'Institut International du Développement Durable et ENDA TM organisent du 17
au 21 juillet 2000 à l'hôtel Novotel à Dakar, un atelier de renforcement des capacités
des négociateurs africains dans le cadre des discussions internationales sur les
changements climatiques. Cet atelier vise à fournir aux négociateurs africains
les techniques de négociation leur permettant de mieux se préparer et mieux aborder
les négociations prochaines sur la Convention des Nations Unies sur les changements
climatiques et notamment la 6e Conférence des Parties à cette convention qui se
tiendra à la Haye (Pays-Bas) du 13 au 24 novembre 2000. Une quarantaine de délégués
africains prendront part à cette rencontre.

Global Cities21: Transformations for a sustainable future
ICLEI World Congress of Local Governments

Global Cities21, ICLEI World Congress of Local Governments, will examine the tools
and methods being employed by local governments in their worldwide movement toward
sustainability. More than five hundred representatives of cities, towns, counties
and their associations from around the globe will gather to examine priority local
environmental issues and establish objectives for the future. International organizations,
national governments, NGOs and businesses are also expected to attend.
Hosted by the Land Sachsen-Anhalt, the congress is being organized by the International
Council for Local Environmental Initiatives with the support of the Land and Expo
2000 Sachsen-Anhalt.
Climate protection, water management, environmental management, industrial land
revitalization, Local Agenda 21 processes and sustainable development planning
are among the topics to be discussed. Results of the Cities21TM urban indicators
pilot project will be presented and will provide a basis for discussing the methods
by which local governments can establish targets and monitor progress for the
future.

Atelier Francophone sur le bilan de la CdP 5

L'Institut de l'énergie et de l'environnement de la Francophonie (IEPF) et ses partenaires organisent du 17 au 21
avril 2000 à Marrackech (Maroc) un atelier francophone sur le bilan de la cinquième
Conférence des Parties (CDP5) tenue à Bonn du 25 octobre au 5 novembre
1999. Cet atelier qui s'inscrit dans le cadre des rencontres francophones sur
les changements climatiques, vise d'une part à favoriser les échanges d'informations
entre les délégués et d'autre part à contribuer au renforcement des capacités.
Le programme de l'Atelier porte sur trois (3) sessions :
Session I : Etat d'avancement des négociations concernant la Convention
Cadre des Nations Unies sur les Changements Climatiques (CCNUCC)
et le Protocole de Kyoto (PK)
Session II : Projets potentiels alliant développement durable et protection
du climat

Quatre ans après la formation du réseau ANAIS centré
sur l'appropriation sociale des NTIC (conférence de Genève, octobre 1996), la
rencontre fera le point sur les usages des technologies de l'information et de
la communication (TIC) pour le développement local, au Sud et au Nord.
Objectif:
- Dresser un état des lieux critique et concret de l'apport des TIC pour atteindre
des objectifs de développement dans différents secteurs.
- Faire la part entre les mythes et les réalités des stratégies et des projets
liés aux TIC.
- Proposer des mesures concrètes et des projets fédérateurs réunissant ONG, secteur
privé et partenaires du développement.
Les participants:
La Rencontre rassemblera plusieurs participants provenant en majorité d'Afrique
avec une forte représentation de jeunes et l'organisations de la société civile.
Elle accueillera les représentants de nombreux pays francophones mais aussi du
Commonwealth et du monde hispanophone.
Les acteurs des TIC sur le terrain et leurs associations dialogueront avec les
responsables politiques des pays du Sud et du Nord, les parlementaires, les experts
techniques, les chercheurs et les responsables culturels, les acteurs économiques,
le secteur privé et fournisseurs de services dans le domaine des TIC, les décideurs
de l'aide publique au développement et les responsables d'organisations internationales.

Atelier de formation intitulé "Production endogène de contenu
par les groupes de femmes d'Afrique francophone", organisé par ENDA TM.
L'Ecopole Ouest Africaine de ENDA Tiers Monde accueille du 17 au 21 janvier 2000
un atelier de formation sur le thème : "Nos Voix sur Internet : Production endogène
de contenu par les groupes de femmes d'Afrique francophone". Cet atelier, organisé
par l'Equipe Synergie Genre et Développement de l'organisation ENDA Tiers-Monde,
rassemble 15 représentantes d'organisations de femmes d'Afrique francophone, actives
au Bénin, au Burkina Faso, en Côte d'Ivoire, au Cameroun, au Mali, en Mauritanie
au Togo, et au Sénégal.
Cette rencontre est organisée dans le cadre du programme "Communication pour les
Femmes", développé par ENDA depuis 1995, et bénéficie de l'appui du Centre de
la Recherche pour le Développement International (CRDI-Dakar).
Au cours de cet atelier, les participantes vont bénéficier de formation pratique
sur l'utilisation des nouvelles technologies d'information et de communication
basées sur le courrier électronique et Internet : production de contenu, participation
aux listes électroniques, diffusion aux médias et agences de presse électronique,
réalisation de pages et site web, reconditionnement de l'information. Les actions
de leurs organisations pourront bénéficier ainsi d'une plus grande visibilité
et donner plus d'ampleur à leurs actions.
Cette activité est un élément du programme d'action développé par ENDA depuis
la Conférence Mondiale des Femmes de Beijing, pour promouvoir l'appropriation
des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication par les groupes de femmes
en Afrique francophone, par le développement de compétences techniques, la création
et le développement de réseaux électroniques de communications pour les femmes.
Ce programme a notamment permis de mener, à l'occasion de l'évaluation du processus
Beijing+5 en Afrique, et en partenariat avec les réseaux similaires en Afrique
et dans le monde, un ensemble d'activités autour de la 6è Conférence Régionale
Africaine sur les Femmes (Addis-Abeba, novembre 1999) et création du site web
"Famafrique, le site web des femmes d'Afrique francophone".

Le présent atelier s'inscrit dans le cadre du plan d'action du Programme CC:TRAIN
(Phase II) pour la région Afrique. Ce programme financé par le Fonds pour l'Environnement
Mondial (FEM) à travers le Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement (PNUD)
est mis en œuvre par l'Institut des Nations Unies pour la Formation et la Recherche
(UNITAR) qui travaille en collaboration étroite avec le Secrétariat de la Convention
Cadre des Nations Unies sur les Changements Climatiques (CCNUCC) et des Partenaires
Régionaux.
ENDA intervient en tant que Partenaire Régional pour l'Afrique du Programme CC:TRAIN
qui couvre, dans cette deuxième phase, le Bénin, le Sénégal et le Tchad. A ce
titre, il assure l'assistance technique aux pays, le développement de matériaux
de formation, ainsi que la mise en œuvre des ateliers de formation. En outre,
il collabore avec les autres Partenaires Régionaux (Amérique latine, Caraïbes
et Pacifique) dans le cadre d'un réseau d'échanges de matériaux pédagogiques et
d'expériences.
L'Atelier du Sénégal sur la Préparation de la Stratégie Nationale de Mise en Oeuvre
de la CCNUCC est le premier d'une série d'ateliers devant se dérouler également
dans les autres pays, notamment le Bénin et le Tchad. Il est organisé en étroite
collaboration avec la Direction de l'Environnement et des Etablissements classés
de la République du Sénégal.

This international conference will explore one key aspect of the sustainability
challenge for business: public sustainability reporting. It will bring together
a wide spectrum of stakeholders to: share information and take stock of progress
to date develop a common understanding of the need for standard, consistent, reliable,
and comprehensive source of business performance information officially launch
and generate discussion of the first version of GRI's1 Corporate Sustainability
Reporting Guidelines for public comment and for testing by volunteer companies.

Organised by the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) and UNEP and sponsored
by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). Objective: to prepare
African delegations to effectively participate in the TRIPs review through heightened
awareness of the issues at stake, particularly regarding synergies and conflicts
with the Convention on Biological Diversity. Corollary objective: formulation
of a unified approach to the review. Limited funding is available for authors
from developing countries to submit papers and for participation at the Conference.
